COURSE OVERVIEW

Course Format

The course is structured to include both informative classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises. This blend ensures a comprehensive understanding and application of the skills taught.

Classroom Instruction

Effective Bleeding Control: Understanding the principles of immediate response to bleeding emergencies.

Estimating Blood Loss: Learning to assess the severity of bleeding to determine the urgency of care needed.

Use of Compression Bandages: Detailed instruction on applying compression bandages to control bleeding.

Tourniquets: Comprehensive guidance on the selection and application of different types of tourniquets.

Wound Packing: Techniques for packing wounds effectively to control bleeding, especially in cases of severe trauma.

Penetrating Injuries to the Torso: Special focus on managing life-threatening torso injuries.

Treating for Shock: Strategies to recognize and manage shock in bleeding victims.

Hands-On Practice

Application of Compression Bandages and Tourniquets: Participants will practice applying different types of bandages and tourniquets on simulated wounds.

Wound Packing Exercise: Hands-on practice in packing wounds, simulating real-life scenarios.
