Course Overview

Prerequisite: Carbine Combatives (or instructor approval)

While modern firearms, especially when well-maintained and paired with high-quality ammunition, seldom experience stoppages or “jams”, it is essential to be prepared for any eventuality. Furthermore, although many of today’s firearms boast capacities that exceed the ammunition typically expended in standard defensive situations, one should never rely solely on these advantages. Instead, training should focus on anticipating and handling worst-case scenarios rather than merely preparing for ideal conditions.

In this course, participants will be equipped with the skills to:

1. Identify Non-Visual Indicators: Learn to detect firearm problems without relying on visual cues, using tactile and auditory feedback, and understanding the nuances of firearm performance.

2. Immediate Action Drills: Master swift and effective procedures to rectify common firearm malfunctions, ensuring minimum downtime during critical moments.

3. Re-engaging with an Empty Firearm: Techniques to rapidly and safely reload and re-engage, ensuring that you are always ready, even after exhausting your firearm’s capacity.

By focusing on these areas, our course aims to provide participants with the confidence and expertise to handle their firearm efficiently, even in the most challenging circumstances. Remember, it’s always better to be over-prepared than under-prepared, especially when it comes to firearm safety and operation.
