Range Rules
We allow children 8 and above. All minors must attend while being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will sign all documents and stay with them at all times.
Violation of any rules or policies may result in the loss of range privileges and removal from the premises as deemed necessary by the range staff.
General Rules
1. Follow ALL firearm safety rules at ALL times! Treat all guns as if they are loaded, never point a gun at anything you do not intend to shoot, keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to fire, and know your target and its surroundings.
2. Eye and ear protection must be worn! Eye and ear protection must remain on at all times on the range.
3. New shooters speak up. We all started somewhere, if you’re new or need help please inform the staff so we can better assist you. Kodiak offers a wide range of classes for novices & experienced shooters.
4. Drug and alcohol use is strictly prohibited, no food or drink on the range! No tobacco products (dip, vape, etc) on the firing line. If you have consumed alcohol in the last 8 hours, you are not permitted to use the range. There is lead in the air that can contaminate any food or beverage on the range.
5. Uncontrolled fire will result in your removal! All shots must be aimed and fired at approved targets on your lane and your lane only. Any shots striking overhead baffles, walls, or anything other than approved targets will result in a twenty dollar ($20) fine per shot. Failure to report such an incident will result in a permanent ban from the facility. All lanes, staging areas, hallways, et cetera are monitored and recorded by surveillance cameras.
6. One shooter with one gun at a time per bay. Only one shooter at the firing line at a time (three per lane max). No dual wielding or drawing from the holster. Never cross in front of the firing line, remain in the shooting bay.
7. Absolutely no incendiary ammunition. Tracer, explosive, lit, etc rounds are strictly prohibited. A permanent ban and a thousand dollar ($1000) fine will result from any use of prohibited ammunition.
8. Felons are prohibited from using the range or browsing the gun shop. If you are a felon, you are committing another felony by handling firearms.
9. Firearms MUST remain at the firing line! Do not put firearms on the staging tables behind the line; move the bag to the firing line, remove the firearm, then place the bag back on the table. Do NOT pass firearms from bay to bay.
10. Clean up your mess! Be sure to sweep up all spent shell casings and place them in the “brass buckets.” Used targets, empty ammunition boxes, etc. can be placed in the trashcans. Alternatively, you can keep your own shell casings. However, you may NOT take brass from the buckets or from other shooters. Doing so will result in a twenty dollar ($20) fine and can result in your removal from the facility.
11. Dress Code strictly enforced for your safety. No open toed shoes (sandals, flip flops, etc) or overly loose clothing (low-cut shirts, sagging pants). Shell casings from firearms can be very hot, landing on bare skin can result in uncontrolled behavior. Kodiak Staff reserves the authority to approve or disapprove of attire.
Kodiak Staff & Range Safety Officers
12. Kodiak Staff has unquestionable authority regarding the operations of the range and handling of firearms! You are on private property and must obey all rules at all times. Ignorance is not an excuse; pay attention to the signage. We reserve the right to refuse service or remove anybody from our property for any reason without refund or explanation.
13. Range Safety Officers have full authority at all times on the firing range! The RSO will eject any person from the range who is handling firearms in an unsafe or careless manner. The RSO has the authority to and will inspect all firearms and ammunition and will ban their use if in their judgment they are unsafe, not in good working order, or “just because.”
14. Be Polite and Respectful! Any harassment, verbal or otherwise, to the Staff, RSO, or other customers will result in being removed from the range and can result in a permanent ban.

19. Only Ammunition purchased at Kodiak can be used in Rental Guns! Do NOT use outside ammunition in rental firearms. Doing so can damage our firearms and will result in a fee equal to the cost of inspecting and repairing the firearm.
20. Action Open, Magazines Removed, and in Range Totes whenever moving rental guns. Do not carry rental guns back and forth between bays or up to the lobby; place them in the totes when transporting them to and from the range.
