Shotgun mastery takes you beyond the fundamentals of shooting a shotgun for personal defense. Students will learn a variety of skills from shooting in low light environments, to utilizing a shotgun with one arm.

Positional Shooting: Kneeling and Prone
Positional Shooting Kneeling and Prone will teach students how to shoot the shotgun from the ground and how to get back up to their feet. Students will learn various kneeling and prone positions to shoot from and when and why they are used.

Low Light Shooting
This class will teach students how to utilize a mounted flashlight in a low light environment. Students learn to identify threats and no – shoot targets with little to no light.

Cover
This course will teach students how to utilize cover with a defensive shotgun. Students will learn how to move around cover. Students will also learn how to minimize their profile in order to make them a harder target.

Students will learn how to transition to a pistol when their primary self defense tool fails. Students will learn how to transition with and without a sling. There are times that we can not use both hands on our defensive tools. In this course students will learn how to operate a defensive shotgun with their strong side.

Multiple Target: 00 Buck to Slug
The shotgun is a multi tool with the ability to use various ammo types. The two main personal defense loads used are 00 Buck and Slug. Students will learn how to switch from each type when appropriate.

Reloading the Gun: Emergency Reloads
Most defense shotguns are limited in their ammo capacities compared to most carbines. Keeping loaded is essential. Students will learn proactive and reactive reloads with a shotgun.
